THE REPORT

A new venue hosted our South Scotland final, the Mint Casino in Glasgow where our third Vegas 100 qualifier would be discovered. We saw another record breaking turn out as we welcomed new Scottish venues from the acquisition of Poker In The Pub. One Vegas 100 package, 2 semi final seats and £500 were up for grabs on the day, and not forgetting the traditional crystal glass trophy and title of Redtooth’s South Scotland champion.

There were some outstanding venues in the form of the Gartocher in Glasgow, Station Hotel in Larbert and the Elphinstone Arms in Elphinstone who all had 2 finalists, even more impressive when there were 20 different venues competing!

It was a day to forget for Reg Lynch who was the first player knocked out, probably equally as disappointed as Thomas McGuinness who just missed out on the final table and a shot at Vegas in 11th place.

Our two unlucky finalists to miss out on all three fronts where William Gifford and Anne Chisholm respectively. Cash prize winners where Michael Harrower who finished in 8th place, Gordon Robertson in 7th, Shaun O’Boyle in 6th, and when Doug Blore and David Rotchford exited in 5th and 4th we had our semi finalists and Vegas qualifier. David McTurk hit the rail in 3rd place which took us to a tense heads-up encounter between John Cochrane and Alex McBride. The final hand saw the best hand hold up as Alex’s Q-9 held a slight pre-flop advantage over John’s 8-5. The board ran off 7-8-9-2-A to make Alex McBride Vegas 100 qualifier number three! Congratulations!
