The Grosvenor Casino in Cardiff hosted the first of our Welsh finals on a day where a Vegas 100 member would be unearthed along with three more semi-finalists. £500 would also be given away with two glass trophies for our individual and team winners.

The team event trophy was awarded to the Blackweir Tavern in Cardiff and they were represented by finalist William Hayward, William Galloway and Judith Ridout.

A nine player final table meant there would be one unfortunate player to miss out on the day’s prizes. Steve Davies from the Baneswell Club couldn’t maneuver his 14,000 stack into a prize winning position as he hit the rail in 9th place. William Hayward was next out in 8th with John Hindle in 7th and Thomas Doyle in 6th. Kirstin Hillsdon bubbled the semi-final seats in 5th. Thomas Huish was eliminated in 4th and Gareth Thomas in 3rd. Gary Rosser and Thomas Davies battled for the much sought after Vegas 100 package in a Cardiff vs. Bridgend clash. The final showdown saw Gary’s 4-2 match up against Thomas’s A-3 with Thomas being at risk. The board ran out K-6-4-9-9 to make Gary Rosser our latest Vegas 100 member.
