The ever impressive Alea Casino in Nottingham entertained our East Midlands members where trophies, cash and a Vegas 100 package were shared amongst our players.

The team event was between two local venues in the Mundy Arms in Heanor and the Sun Inn in Eastwood. The Sun Inn emerged victorious thanks to Shaun Wood, David Hamilton, David Eyre and past regional winner Sean Boylan.

With all 9 finalists making the semi-final the pressure was off a little as Shaun Wood made a swift exit in 9th place. Other semi-finalists were Andy Jankowski in 8th place, Mark Hawley in 7th place, Rob Lewis in 6th place, Duncan Goode in 5th, Lee Randall 4th and Simon Dowers 3rd. Mark Tansey and Shaun Blackshaw battled hard for the Vegas 100 package which saw Mark hit a straight flush in the decisive hand. The few chips that Shaun had left went into the middle with 7-5 against Mark’s 8-3. The board ran out 9-4-10-6-Q to seal the win for Mark and crown him the new East Midlands champion. Mark was awarded the trophy by current Vegas 100 member Tez Duxberry.
