The Mallard in Seaham aced the team event with four top 40 finishers. Their heroes were Roger Lindley, Mal Newton, Barry Mather and Francis Cassidy.

A 10 player final saw short stack Michael Evans hit the rail in 10th place and was soon followed by big stack Nicole Smith in 9th place. Martin Connor Snr was 8th with Ian Frost 7th, Will Mason 6th, Karen Large 5th, Steve Lewis 4th and Mark Harrison 3rd. Mark’s elimination saw Josh and Chris go heads-up for the trip to Las Vegas. The final hand had Josh at risk and in terrible shape as his K-9 was up against Chris’s K-10. A final board of 7-3-5-8-10 peeled off to make Chris Rudd the newest North East regional final winner.
