Our newest venue, the Grosvenor in Leeds hosted our final West Yorkshire regional final of the Redtooth Poker year due to the sudden closure of the Alea in Leeds. Thankfully, the casino didn’t let us down as nearly 200 players played for the trip to Las Vegas.

The Riverside Farm’s Monday league won the team event and they were represented by Steve Houlston, Antonia Houlston, Chris Maher and Gareth Robinson.

With Daniel Medley‘s huge stack we had a lot of short stacks as one by one they were eliminated. Darren Hanson was first to go in 10th with Antonia Houlston in 9th, Timothy Spencer in 8th, Matthew Elener 7th, Brian Welch 6th, Chris Maher 5th, Ray Bartram 4th and Daniel Medley in 3rd. Michael Major and Jack Somal were left to contest the day’s top prize. The tournament came to a close once the chips were in the middle with Jack holding A-5 to Michael’s K-10. A board of 10-2-4-3-Q gave Jack the straight and with it a trip to the poker capital of the world.
