It was another great day in Scotland with yet another exciting Redtooth Poker regional final. Players from the south of Scotland took to the prestigious stage in the Gala Casino, Merchant Street, Glasgow and once again fought for a share of the £1,000 prize pool.
Eventually the field was reduced to a final table of eight and the remaining players had two things on their minds, the all important golden tickets to the National Final and the £500 first prize.
Finally it was heads up between Stephen Gibson of the Tower Bar, East Kilbride and Louise Both of No. 2 Baker Street, Stirling. Louise was constantly struggling to increase her chip stack due to Stephen’s dominating tactics. Stephen had already knocked out 3 players on the final table and had Louise in his sights. The final hand came down to Louise pushing all in with Ad 5d and Stephen with a huge chip lead instantly calling with Qd 9s.
The flop came 2d 2h 3c….Louise was now looking at an inside straight and an improbable flush draw. The turn card came a 7c which didn’t help either player. The river card was the 9d which gave Stephen the winning hand with a pair of 9’s.
