Congratulations go to Trudi Gibson of the Smugglers Den, Morecambe for becomming our only lady winner of this seasons regional finals.
The North West and North Wales regional final was held at the Village Hotel & Leisure Club, Bury and with a record 220 runners a fierce tournament ensued.
Graham Kelly of the the Dog & Partridge, Morecambe was the chip leader going onto the final table with 335k giving him a great advantage against the other players. The final heads up came between Trudi and Graham, with over 1 million chips in play and the all important title of ‘Champion’ up for grabs it was getting exciting. Both players were all in and Trudi had Kd 8h against Graham’s Qh 10d. The flop came with 2d As 8d giving Trudi an instant advantage of one pair. The Turn delivered 9s giving Graham a very slim chance of hitting a straight on the River, but the River gave Trudi the winning hand of two pairs with 2s.
