Our South Yorkshire regional final was held at the Grosvenor in Sheffield which saw an explosive finish to the tournament where another trip to Las Vegas was awarded with the Redtooth Poker year now firmly in full swing.
The day’s team event trophy was picked up by the Dusty Miller in Chesterfield who boasted a 2014 Vegas 100 member in landlord Adrian Fazakerley. Scott Summerfield, Graham Macklam and Ian Gilpin also put in a good shift for the champion pub!
Our final table of 10 was led by Andy Frith on 175,000 and Craig Gregory on 151,000 as both players powered through to the heads-up battle. This was after Baz Stone finished in 10th, Bernard Milner 9th, Audrey Sheardown 8th, Lee Watson 7th, Ian Hammett 6th, James Cook 5th, Ian Quinn 4th & Tony Edwards 3rd.
The tournament came to an end in what can only be called as a cold deck for Andy Frith as his Ad-6s met 4s-3d on a 4d-2d-5d-6d-9h board to give Andy the nut flush to Craig’s STRAIGHT FLUSH! Unlucky Andy and congratulations to Craig Gregory, the new South Yorkshire champion.
