Cardiff’s Grosvenor Casino welcomed our Welsh members for their latest regional final. Another Redtooth player would be winning a trip to Las Vegas for our VEGAS100 National Final next year, the greatest prize in pub poker.
With 2 finalists on the day, the best represented venue was the Two Brewers in Bridgend. Congratulations to Martin Cox, Adrian Morrish, Ashley Berrow & Ricky Thomas.
Our 10 player final included 2 previous VEGAS100 qualifiers in Anthony Dyer and Alex Simpson along with the current Welsh champion and 2016 qualifier Mark Jewell. With Mark and Anthony busting out in 8th & 4th place respectively it was down to Alex to try and become the first double VEGAS100 qualifier from Wales with only Ricky Thomas sat in his way. The final hand of the day saw Alex hold K-10 to Ricky’s A-6 with the chips in the middle pre-flop. The final board ran off 2-4-6-4-J and with Alex at risk Ricky Thomas became the new Wales regional champion.
