Nottingham’s Grosvenor Casino hosted our East Midlands regional final with another golden ticket being awarded to the day’s winner. Cash prizes, UK National Final seats and a team trophy were also awarded in just 1 day of poker action.

The team event had second time winners in the Green Dragon in Hucknall. On this occasion they were represented by Martin Fordham, Caroline Quinn, Wayne Mayes & Marilyn Colclough.

The final table saw Wayne Mayes lead the field on 145,000 looking to secure a Green Dragon double. With Nigel Fletcher exiting in 3rd place there was only Chris Wilson stood in Wayne’s way as they both contested the much sought after VEGAS100 package. Unfortunately for Wayne his aggression backfired as he shoved his A-4 into Chris’s A-A to his own disbelief! The final board ran out 8-Q-K-7-Q to eliminate Wayne in 2nd place and make Chris Wilson the new East Midlands regional champion.
