Bristol’s Gala Casino played host to our South West & South Wales Regional Final. A large turnout of nearly 200 players filled the casino as ‘shuffle up n deal’ was announced around 2pm.

All nine finalists would receive a National Final invite with the top eight each winning a cash prize. Nathan Sutton started the final table as the short stack with just a single big blind, but that wasn’t going to stop him grinding his way up the leader board to claim a very surprising but deserved victory.

Nathan from the Miles Arms Hotel would be up against Gary Rosser from the Village Inn in Cardiff for the regional title. Nathan got his chips in behind with KT against Gary’s A3. Gary must of thought the double up was on it’s way as his A3 was still in the lead on the turn, but the river would deliver as a K fell to give Nathan the win. Gary does have some comfort in qualifying for next years National Final and took home a nice £200 for his troubles.
