The always helpful Gala Casino in Edinburgh hosted our South Scotland Regional Final. Bad weather conditions meant there was a slightly lower field than usual but we didn’t let that prevent everyone from having a good day out.

The players from the Sportsman in Rutherglen all had a brief Regional Final experience as they were three of the first four players out. The IQue Cafe Bar had better fortunes however, as all three players made the top five places which secured them the team title for the South Scotland region.

All eight players who made the final table were guaranteed a cash prize, from £20 for 8th to £500 for the winner! The heads-up match came down to Lloyd Brook from the Queens Retreat in Edinburgh and Damian O’Hara from the dominant IQ Cafe Bar in Glasgow. The poker gods were with Lloyd though as he took down the South Scotland Regional Final with KT on a 4T4 9 2 board against Damian’s 98. Lloyd takes home the £500 cash, a very nice crystal glass trophy and a National Final seat for his efforts. Congratulations to all winners.
