THE REPORT

The Grosvenor in Cardiff was where we found our first ever Welsh Vegas package winner as the winner of the day’s tournament would join the Vegas 100 club.

Some of the early exits included Claire Abraham, Neil England and Alan Owens as the field soon thinned out to just a couple of tables.

The Birchgrove had a good showing with two finalists which was almost three until Huw Roberts narrowly missed out in 12th place.

Our short stack Alistair Kerry was eliminated in 10th place with our chip leader having a final table to forget in 9th place. Ashley Upchurch exited in 8th as Gareth Wainwright was knocked out in 7th. 6th was Leigh Evans with Neil Pash in 5th. The second Birchgrove finalist, Leanne Tanner-Roberts finished in 4th place shortly before Paul Symonds who was 3rd. Craig Fox matched up against Ryan Church and had the poker gods on his side as his 9-5 outdrew Ryan’s A-10 on a Q-K-6-5-7 board to crown Craig Fox as our new Wales One champion.
