The Grosvenor in Bristol hosted our West Country regional final where the ladies outshone the men!

One of our longest serving West Country venues won the team event, the Village Inn in Swindon. They had three finalists on the day in league champion Karin Willis, Simon Ruddle and Robert Bright. Ryan Collett nearly made it 4 finalists but narrowly missed out in 14th place.

Our final table consist of 4 ladies and 4 men and they lined up as follows

Our 8th place finisher was Jane Fey who was swiftly followed by Robert Bright in 7th and Mark Young in 6th. Karin Willis exited in 5th with Stephen Hutchins and Simon Ruddle in 4th & 3rd respectively. This left two ladies to contest the heads-up match with Jackie Connors facing Teresa Beard. The final hand saw Jackie’s Q-4 race against Teresa’s K-10 and a 4 on the turn was enough to crown Jackie Connors the new West Country regional final champion. Congratulations.
