The South West & South Wales regional final had a change of city and was this time staged at the Gala Casino, Harbourside, Bristol.

After several intense hours of play it was down to the final table and Chris Biggs of the Village Inn, Cardiff was a clear chip leader with almost three times more chips than his nearest rival. Naturally Chris made it to the final heads up against David Horstead of the Hatherley, Cheltenham.  With KJ off suit Chris decided to go all in and David called with A9 suited.  The flop delivered 9 4 Q giving David a pair and Chris a possibility of a straight.  But the straight wasn’t to be with the turn revealling a 5 and the river a 7 giving David the win with a pair of 9’s.
