Sheffield United celebrated its 125th anniversary in style at a glittering dinner, show and awards event at Ponds Forge International Sports Centre.

Celebrity guests, including playing and management legends, internationals, representatives of the football community and the current management and playing squad formed part of a sell-out 1,200 audience.

Redtooth were event partners and took centre stage by masterminding the production event and presenting the award to Sheffield United’s third greatest ever player, which went to Brian Deane, who unfortunately could not attend the event.

Martin Green, managing director at Redtooth, said: “It was a truly wonderful evening and Redtooth are extremely proud to have been a part of Sheffield United’s 125th anniversary celebrations.”

There were eleven award categories in total, with former England midfielder Tony Currie being crowned as United’s greatest-ever player, taking the accolade ahead of Everton defender Phil Jagielka, after they were shortlisted from more than 1,000 stars who have played for the Blades over the years.

The greatest manager award, presented by current boss Nigel Clough, went to Dave Bassett, and Chris Morgan was crowned as the club’s greatest ever captain.
