Our Welsh contingent played out their regional final at the Grosvenor in Cardiff as an over 90% turnout on the day all looked to win the first Welsh seat into VEGAS100 2016. The players who came so close but yet so far would be awarded with a share of £500 and UK National Final seats.

The Crown in Newport had a great showing with 3 finalists from their 2 leagues. But it was their Friday league that performed the best as they took down the team event. Congratulations to John Payne, Les Covell, L Hole & Roger Channing.

Our 10 player final included 2014 VEGAS100 member and finalist Ryan Marshall who was looking to be the first Welsh player to qualify for a 2nd time. However, Ryan fell just short in 5th place but will get another shot in October’s UK National Final. The heads-up encounter came down to the 2 big stacks as Mark Jewell battled with Ying Wong for the VEGAS100 seat. Eventually Mark was victorious as his 8-8 won the flip against Ying’s K-Q on a 7-10-7-9-3 board. Congratulations Mark.
