The fabulous Grosvenor Casino in Manchester on Bury New Road welcomed our North West members from Manchester and surrounding areas as another VEGAS100 2016 qualifier was uncovered. Along with the individual winner’s trophy there was also a team event trophy as well as £500 cash and UK National Final seats making the total prize-pool in excess of £1,500.

The first award was the team event trophy which was claimed by the Iron Horse in Thornton Cleveleys. Congratulations to Christine Nuttal, John Bethel, David Malpass & Brian Johnson.

Our 9 player final saw Darren Hinchliffe lead the way on 229,000 chips in what was a very unbalanced table. Unfortunately Darren’s stack was only good enough for an 8th place finish, no doubt a final he’d like to forget!! This left the other 2 big stacks to battle for the top prize and Josh went up against Jen for the remaining two prizes. The chips were soon in the middle with Josh tabling K-2 to Jen’s pretty 10-9 suited. To Josh’s dismay the board ran off 4-6-J-9-5 to eliminate him from the tournament and crown Jen Brown the new North West regional final champion.
