An amazing turnout for our South West regional final saw two tables in use outside of the card room for the first time at the Grosvenor Casino in Plymouth. A seat into VEGAS100 was up for grabs for the winner along with many other prizes for both players and venues.

The Fortesque Hotel won the team event trophy for the first time and had 2 finalists on the day. Congratulations to Aiden Murray, Shane Bailey, Thomas Roden & Will Baker.

The final table of 10 took their seats to fight for the individual prizes on offer. Jon Whale started as the big stack on 94,000 with Daryl Doidge the short stack on 32,000. Our heads-up encounter came down to Jon Whale vs. Will Baker for the chance to compete with the elite in Las Vegas next year. The tournament came to an end with Jon holding Qh-3s to Will’s 10c-8c and after seeing an interesting flop of 10h-7h-8h the chips were soon in the middle. The turn produced a 6d with the river coming 9h to give Will the straight but Jon the Q-high flush and with it the title of South West regional final champion.
