The newly refurbished and fabulous Grosvenor Casino in Luton hosted our Central England final as nearly 200 players sat down with the hope of becoming the next Central England VEGAS100 qualifier. £500 was also shared amongst the top finishers and the best represented venue was awarded with a glass trophy to display behind the bar.
The best represented venue was the Golden Hind in Cambridge who are not strangers to winning this award. Congratulations to Franco Elia, Vince Marino, Peter Stevenson & Philip Hewitt.
Andy Gove led the field at the start of the final with 174,000 in chips with Chris Hughes the short stack on just 4,000. Unfortunately Chris couldn’t make an impact on the final as he was eliminated in 9th position. The big stack, Andy Gove, guided his big stack into the heads-up battle where he met Peter Stevenson with the seat into VEGAS100 up for grabs. The final hand saw Andy table 6-7 to Peter’s Ad-10d and with a proceeding board of 2h-Jd-6d-Js-7d Peter was declared the winner and became the latest Central England regional final champion.
