Manchester’s fabulous Grosvenor Casino welcomed our North West players as another golden ticket into VEGAS100 was fought for. We also gave away £500 to the day’s top finishers, 2 crystal glass trophies for the individual winner and best represented team along with numerous UK National Final qualifiers.

As always the first trophy on offer was the team trophy which was won by Morecambe’s Trimpell Sports & Social Club. They were well represented by Liam Aspden, Jim Aislabie, 2015 RPT Blackpool champion Scott Anderson and 2014 UK Pub Poker Champion Gareth Tomlinson.

A 9 player final table took their seats with Paul Oldbury on top with 179,000 chips and Danny Albanese the short stack on just 11,000. ‘Just’ 11,000 was all Danny needed as he gradually made his way through the field to reach the heads-up encounter against Warrington’s Paul Oldbury. In what was the comeback of the weekend the final hand saw Danny table A-K to Paul’s J-10 and with a A ‘in the window’ the rest of the board ran favourably for Danny as an A-8-8-9-9 hit the felt to confirm Danny Albanese the latest North West VEGAS100 qualifier.
